History

Founded in 1989, by Zahir Dhalla, illustrate inc began its journey by building Universal Life illustration systems, from scratch, for a variety of Life Insurance carriers.

In 2000, the company changed it’s name, and rebranded, to illustrate inc, the business as it continues today.

In 2013, illustrate inc entered the US market through the acquisition of the illustration software division of Kansas based Lewis and Ellis.

In 2023, illustrate inc was acquired by thinktum Inc (www.thinktum.ai), an industry leader in no-code eApp, underwriting rules engine, and AI technologies for the Life Insurance industry and the consolidated entity will continue to operate under the illustrate inc name.
